According to a report from the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, Japanese tourists have increasingly encountered pickpockets in Taiwan, particularly in popular tourist attractions. Four key locations have been identified as high-risk areas.
These high-risk areas include busy night markets and major sightseeing spots, prompting calls for local businesses and government agencies to enhance security measures to protect tourist safety.
