The 2025 World University Games will take place in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, starting from July 16. On the morning of the 11th, President Lai Ching-te visited the National Sports Training Center in Zuoying, Kaohsiung, to personally flag off the Taiwanese athletes who are about to depart for the competition.

During the event, Lai awarded the athlete delegation a bonus of 200,000 TWD to encourage them to give their all and bring glory to their country. He emphasized that this event will provide comprehensive logistical support, including relay stations, dining facilities, physical therapy locations, and sports centers, ensuring that every athlete has the best possible competition conditions.

The 32nd World University Games will be held from July 16 to 27, with 196 Taiwanese athletes participating in 15 different sports. Lai also reflected on Taiwan's impressive achievements at the 2023 Chengdu Games, expressing optimism for the athletes competing this year.
