On October 10, the Pakistan National Cyber Crime Agency announced a successful raid on an illegal scam center, resulting in the arrest of 149 suspects, including 71 foreigners, with 48 being Chinese nationals.

The investigation revealed that the center operated through online groups, employing a long-term fishing tactic for online investment fraud and Ponzi schemes. The raid occurred in Faisalabad, a manufacturing city in eastern Pakistan, after local police acted on a tip about the criminal network.

Surprisingly, the building housing the scam center was the residence of Tasheen Awan, the local head of the power system, who remains at large. Among the arrested suspects, there are 78 Pakistanis and 71 foreigners, including 18 women.

The police investigation found that the scam group's methods were traditional yet effective; they initially offered small returns on minor investments to build trust before luring victims into larger investments, ultimately leading them into intricate fraud traps.
