China's J-15T Fighter Jet Makes Public Debut in Hong Kong, Significantly Enhancing Combat Capability

The aircraft carrier Shandong Fleet of the Chinese military recently concluded a five-day visit to Hong Kong, making its public debut of the domestic J-15T carrier-based aircraft. This new fighter jet shows a significant improvement in combat capabilities compared to the J-15 and is now equipped with an 'ejection tow bar', preparing for the electromagnetic catapult system of the Fujian.

This public event attracted over 30,000 Hong Kong citizens to visit the ship, showcasing a solemn military presence. Visitors can obtain brochures on the flight deck of the Shandong and collect commemorative tokens at five designated viewing points.

The J-15T is designed for launch from an aircraft carrier's ejection system, with reinforced landing gear to enable maximum fuel and ammunition ejection. The radar detection range and power have been optimized, greatly enhancing combat effectiveness.

Military analysts suggest that this new aircraft shows promise when compared with the US F/A-18EF, while Taiwan's F-16V is seen as its counterpart due to their similar phased array radar technologies.

In the face of military threats from Beijing, Taiwan needs to strengthen its air defense capabilities, with emphasis on American-made Patriot missiles and domestically produced Sky Bow missiles playing a critical role.
