A 17-year-old girl in Pakistan was shot dead by her father after she refused to delete her TikTok account. The incident took place in Rawalpindi, Punjab, where the father, Akhlaq Ahmed, shot his daughter, Mehak Shahzadi, claiming it was an 'honor killing.' After the incident, family members attempted to disguise it as a suicide, but police quickly uncovered the truth.

According to reports, Mehak was a prospective university student who had been repeatedly asked by her father to delete her TikTok account, which she ignored. In early July, the angry father lost control and shot his daughter before fleeing the scene, and the family attempted to conceal the incident as a suicide.

Upon receiving the report, police launched an immediate investigation and arrested Akhlaq, recovering the firearm used. The case is being addressed under the context of 'spreading mischief.' This incident highlights the severe threats faced by South Asian women who gain visibility on social media.
