Taiwan's PTS Launches International Animation Cooperation with Korea to Develop Preschool IP

Taiwan's first public channel aimed at children, PTS, which began broadcasting in August 2024, has been actively promoting high-quality children's content. It has initiated its first international cooperation through the 'All Star Preschool Animation Co-Development Project', partnering with five renowned Korean animation companies to develop original preschool animation IP.

Through master classes, team incubation, and international proposal mechanisms, two Taiwanese projects — 'Hello, Pakola!' and 'Didi Goes Forward' — were ultimately selected to commence a new chapter in international co-production.

PTS aims to create new animated works that combine local culture with international market potential through lively characters and educational stories, accompanying global families in sharing joyful moments.

'Didi Goes Forward', produced by Ranses Animation, features a water droplet as the main character, guiding children to understand the wonders of nature and the value of friendship through imaginative play. Meanwhile, 'Hello, Pakola!' produced by Turn Turn Animation, presents an adorable and unique artistic style, where the Pakola team embarks on exciting adventures each day to resolve various issues faced by the residents of Dream Island.

Lin Ching-fen, director of the PTS Children's Center, emphasized that since the channel's inception, they have been dedicated to promoting Taiwanese preschool animation and creating connections with internationally renowned animation companies to draw upon cultural experiences from around the world. She expressed hope that through collaboration with Korean partners, they can develop high-quality Taiwanese original animations that allow children to dream, explore, understand each other, and feel warmth together.

This cooperation will continue until November 2025, with a proposal meeting scheduled for November, where they will invite preschool animation collaborators and potential investors from the Asian region to select new preschool animation IP for production, connecting with the international market and ensuring high-quality animated content accompanies family moments.
