Venue for Anti-Referendum Rally Shifted to Mini Egg in Taichung to Avoid 2020 Kuan Yu's Muddy Situation

The opposition coalition and the Fighting Blue are set to hold the "Love Me Again" rally in Taichung on July 12, aimed at boosting the economy and opposing the referendum. Originally planned at the former Imperial Sugar Factory across from Taichung Train Station, the venue was changed to the Taichung Mini Egg due to mud caused by Typhoon Danas. The event has also moved from the district of Blue MP Luo Ting-wei to that of Blue MP Huang Jian-hao.

Insiders indicate that this change is intended to prevent a repeat of the embarrassing scene from December 29, 2019, when Kuan Yu held a rally in Taichung just before the presidential election, and rain turned the area into a muddy mess.

Confirmed attendees include Taichung Mayor Lu Hsiu-yen, Legislative Speaker Kuan Yu, and People's Party Chair Huang Kuo-chang, along with leaders from the opposition coalition. Six blue MPs facing recall will also be present. The rally will open its doors at 5:30 PM, hosted by media personality Wang Chien-chiu.

However, it has been reported that Kuomintang Chairman Zhu Lilun was not invited. Party insiders noted that while Zhu received an invitation, he would be unable to attend because he needs to support blue MPs facing recall in Northern Taiwan on the same day.
